There has been one constant throughout my career as an environmental safety and health professional: Learning. Every project, every challenge, every day offers something new to learn. That constant keeps me engaged.
Recently, I started exploring the concepts and ideas represented by the “New View,” sometimes referred to as “Safety II” or “Safety Differently.” What a satisfying adventure it has been. It ties together many beliefs and concepts I have employed and elevates safety philosophy to a whole new level. My exploration continues, but I have written a short paper on how I define the “New View.”
It has been posted on our The Safely Working Project web site. Please read the paper and let me know what you think.
